SID Trustees

As a registered charity SID has a Management Committee to oversee its work.

These trustees bring a wealth of background knowledge to SID's management, including personal experience of disability as well as a range of professional skills.

Malcolm Tutton (Chairman)

Malcolm Tutton has been involved with the supply of cars to people with disabilities for the last 25 years and now has responsibility for Motability within the Ford Retail Group, the 50-branch retail arm of Ford of Britain.

He has established a wide range of contacts over the years.

He lives in West Horsley and his interests include walking, tennis, badminton and mountain biking.

Tom Allen (Treasurer)

Tom Allen (b1934) is a chartered accountant. After qualifying and completing his RAF National Service, he joined Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co (now KPMG) in 1958, where he became a partner in 1968, specialising in audit and financial investigation work.

Following his retirement in 1994 he has been involved with the financial direction of various charities, all working with the sick and disabled. He is also actively involved with the University of the Third Age and Woking Choral Society. Interests include walking, reading and music. He is married, with two adult children.

Leonie Riddett

My name is Leonie Riddett & I am an independent 31 year old living at home with my family in Bookham, Surrey.

I have Cerebral Palsy and sometimes use an electric wheelchair. Currently I work in the Admissions Department of Guildford College. I process all the A level and GCSE applications that come into the college.

My hobbies include socialising with friends, eating out and going to the cinema. I used to work for a Disability Information Service dealing with enquiries from the public which I enjoyed greatly.

Michael Jones

He is a Reigate solicitor with particular expertise in commercial and development property work, as well as involvement in practice management. Recent charitable project work includes advising the trustees of Woodhatch Park Project, and drafting the constitution for Friends of Priory Park ready for Reigate’s (successful) lottery bid.

Michael was for 7 years Chairman of Governors of Brooklands School, a school for children with severe learning difficulties and for a short time was a co-opted member of Surrey Education Committee. He is currently a Governor of Reigate College, and chairs its Management Committee. He is also a member of the Management Committee of Sidlow Bridge Centre, a Pupil Referral Unit in Reigate.

He was a founder member of Reigate Hill Rotary Club. Michael is an active member of St Philip’s Church, Reigate and, in addition to his wife, has three children two of whom have successfully “flown the nest”.

Michael joined SID as a trustee in 2006.

Mark Dyer

I work as the a Principal Access Officer for the Olympic Delivery Authority in ensuring the use of inclusive design throughout the Olympic Park and venues for the London 2012 games.

Over the past ten years I have gained considerable experience in the field of accessibility management and auditing including work for British Airport Authority and The National Trust.

I am a wheelchair user and a local resident.

Helen Farr

Retired after nearly 20 years working for a charity for disabled people and, previously, 5 years with Citizens Advice Bureau. Many years hands-on experience of caring for a physically disabled person with all of the joy and anguish that entails; battling with various agencies; searching for suitable equipment. Currently, also a member of an Ataxia UK committee that awards holiday travel bursaries.

Interests include music, ballet, theatre and travel.

Di Cheeseman

I have been employed by White Lodge Centre for the past 14 years initially as a massage therapist / physio assistant, then Assistant Manager and for the past 7 years I have been the Head of the Adult and Community Support Service, before becoming a permanent member of staff I worked freelance as a massage therapist and this is how my involvement with White Lodge began.

I have previously been a trustee for another information service and I am now on the management committee of RAVS and Runnymede Carers Support as a representative member.

I studied with the Open University where I received my diploma in Health and Social Care and certificate for Managing Voluntary and Non Profit Enterprises.

Pari Dhillon

Pari Dhillon has worked for and with a range of voluntary, community and faith organisations in Surrey. Most recently, Pari worked for Surrey Community Action as the Head of Voluntary and Community Services. She now works for Surrey County Council focusing on equality and diversity and community engagement.

Pari volunteers for Amnesty International as a campaigner and for the Dhilwan International Development Society, supporting Punjabi villagers to have better life chances.

She lives in Twickenham, and much to the horror of other local residents, has recently started roller-skating.
