Information Exchange Workshop - September 2006
Summary
The sixth meeting of the Information Exchange took place on 12th September 2006. The guest speaker
was Jan Welsman, from Surrey Association of Visual Impairment. She gave a talk on providing information
to visually impaired people, with an overview of the range of conditions and their affect upon an individual's
vision.
A new page listing What’s On for disability events, training and awareness days has been developed for the AskEnid site. There was a demonstration of this new page. Suggestions for modifications and additional features included:
- making the listings quarterly rather than bi monthly & continuing with putting on the basic information and a link to the event
- putting in links to ongoing meetings & events
- adding in the start and closing dates for consultation documents
- circulating an email to alert organisations when new events appear on the website
- including a list of accessible venues in Surrey
Next Meeting
The next meeting will be 7th December, with a speaker on providing information to young people.
