David Bullen outlined some of the dangers older people are exposed to by conmen who solicit work by knocking on doors. The impact of this type of crime and that of doorstep burglary can be far greater than financial loss. To ensure consumers have access to reputable traders meeting good practice guidelines set by trading standards departments, the Buy With Confidence scheme can be used to find reliable traders.
